RIYADH: Last week, the Joint Committee working against illegal immigrants in Saudi Arabia arrested 21,477 illegal immigrants.
The statement issued by the committee said that of the arrests made between January 30 and February 5, 2025, 13,638 were for violating residency laws, 4,663 were for violating border laws, while 3,176 immigrants were involved in violating labor laws.
During the said period, 1,316 people were arrested who were trying to cross the border and enter the country illegally, of which 40 percent were Yemenis, 58 percent were Ethiopians, and two percent were immigrants from other countries.
The committee further said that 13 people were arrested for facilitating illegal immigrants.
