UTTAR PRADESH: In Greater Noida, a citizen named Shatrughan Sinha committed suicide by jumping from the 16th floor over a domestic dispute.
According to Indian media reports, this tragic incident took place at Paramount Emotions Society in Basrukh area of Greater Noida, where 38-year-old software engineer Shatrughan Sinha allegedly attacked his sister-in-law with a knife and then jumped to his death from the 16th floor.
Local police say that Shatrughan Sinha had a serious argument with his wife over something and he allegedly tried to attack his wife, but when his sister-in-law intervened, Sinha stabbed her with a knife, injuring her hand and causing her to bleed.
When Shatrughan Sinha’s wife saw his sister in distress, she called the police, to which he panicked and locked himself in the room, fearing disgrace. When his wife and sister-in-law threatened to open the door and threatened to call the police, he jumped from the balcony of the house, fell to the ground and died on the spot.
Police say that Shatrughan Sinha’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Initial evidence suggests that Shatrughan Sinha was unemployed and suffering from severe mental stress for the last six months.
Before this incident, he had also consumed alcohol, while neighbors say that there were frequent arguments between the husband and wife.
Police further say that Shatrughan Sinha was a software engineer in an IT company, he had been married for about 11 years and he has an 8-year-old son, while Shatrughan Sinha’s wife also works as a software engineer in an IT company.
