WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump is unhappy with the latest Iranian proposal to resolve the two-month-old war.

According to media reports, a US official said that the ceasefire proposal received from Iran is reducing hopes for a resolution to the conflict.

He indicated that the latest Iranian proposal did not explicitly address Iran’s nuclear program. And it will remain suspended until the war ends and the Gulf shipping disputes are resolved.

The US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Trump is unhappy with the Iranian proposal because he wants nuclear issues to be included in it.

White House spokeswoman Olivia Wells also said that the US is clear about its redlines because it wants to end the ongoing war with Iran.
