Trump visit Doha as Qatar seals $200 bn aviation deal with Boeing

DOHA: US President Donald Trump revealed on Wednesday that Qatar Airways has ordered 160 Boeing aircraft.

President Trump announced the historic aviation deal during a media briefing in Doha. “Qatar has ordered 160 Boeing aircraft, a deal worth over $200 billion,” President Trump told the press in the Qatari capital.

According to President Trump, the strategic agreement reflects the flourishing bilateral relationship. He said that relations between Qatar and the United States are reaching new heights.

Media reported that the Qatari government has officially confirmed the acquisition of American Boeing aircraft by signing an aviation agreement with the United States.

In addition to the aviation agreement, President Trump confirmed another landmark agreement involving defense cooperation. Highlighting a further dimension of bilateral engagement, he said that an agreement has been reached with Qatar regarding MQ-90 aircraft.

The series of agreements were signed during a formal ceremony in Doha, which foreign media described as a historic moment in the strategic partnership between the two countries.

In addition, foreign media confirmed that defense agreements have been signed between the United States and Qatar.
