DUBAI: The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has declared a public holiday to mark the National Day.

As per the details, there is good news for overseas Pakistani employees working in the UAE, who wish to travel to their home country to visit their family members and relatives, as they will enjoy a four-day holiday in the UAE next month.

According to UAE media outlets, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced a two-day holiday for all public and private sector employees in the country.

The ministry said that on December 2 and 3, 2024, all public and private sector employees in the UAE will be paid holidays in celebration of the 53rd National Day, also known as Eid al-Fitr.

Employees will enjoy a week-long holiday combined with Saturday and Sunday, which will be converted into a four-day break.

The ministry added that normal working hours will resume from Wednesday, December 4.

The UAE authority extended its best wishes to the “leadership of the UAE, its citizens and all residents across the country” on the occasion.

Every year, UAE citizens and expatriates celebrate National Day with enthusiasm.

The official ceremony will be held in Al Ain city, which will also be attended by the country’s leaders.

National flags will be hoisted everywhere, from malls and homes to the beach and desert.

Fireworks shows will be held at several locations, while dynamic displays reflecting the colors of the UAE flag will illuminate the city across Dubai.

The UAE declared its independence on December 2, 1971, after completing agreements with Britain. Also known as UAE Union Day, the UAE celebrates National Day every year to celebrate the unification of the emirates in 1971.
