Pakistan Embassy responds to report on UAE visa ban

Pakistan Embassy responds to report on UAE visa ban

DUBAI: The Pakistani embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday rejected media reports claiming that the UAE government had shared a document with it citing the reasons for imposing visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens.

“These claims are factually incorrect. No such document has been shared by the UAE authorities,” the embassy said in a press release.

It said that Pakistan enjoys strong and cordial relations with the UAE and both governments are committed to resolving any issues of mutual concern through official channels and constructive dialogue.

It added that the embassy is fully committed to protecting the interests of Pakistani citizens in the UAE and will continue to work closely with the UAE authorities to further strengthen the friendly relations between our two countries.

The response came after media reports claiming that the UAE government had informed the embassy about the visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens.

The alleged document states that several Pakistani nationals are involved in activities considered inappropriate in the UAE, including protests, criticism of UAE policies on social media, and misuse of online platforms.
