WASHINGTON: The US military has seized another oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea. The US military’s Southern Command said its forces had seized the oil tanker Olena, but did not specify on what grounds the tanker was targeted.

According to US government records, the Olena tanker, formerly known as Minerva M, was subject to sanctions for transporting Russian oil. The operation came two days after US forces seized two oil tankers. Among them was the Russian-flagged Marinera oil tanker, formerly known as Bella-1.
