Punjab Budget 2024: 25% increase approved for govt employees’ salaries

LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet has approved a 25 percent increase in the salaries of public sector employees as Provincial Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman presents the Punjab budget 2024-25.

The provincial administration is anticipated to announce a wage raise of up to 25% for employees in grades 1 through 16, and up to 20% for senior officials.

Furthermore, the provincial government has approved a 15% increase in pensions for retired government employees.

The Punjab administration also plans to boost the provincial minimum salary by Rs5,000 to Rs37,000.

Yesterday, the Federal finance minister unveiled the federal budget which proposed 25pc salary increase for government employees.

The 25 percent increase will be applies to employees of Grades 1 to 16. Additionally, the government has approved a 22% raise for employees in Grades 17 to 22.

Furthermore, pensioners will get a 15 percent hike in Budget 2024-25.
