ISLAMABAD: To provide relief to the disadvantaged segments of society, the government has increased the budgetary allocations for the BISP to Rs593 billion, registering a 29 percent increase as compared to the previous year.
This was revealed during Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb’s budget statement to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The number of recipients receiving quarterly stipends under the Benazir Kafaalat scheme has been increased from 9.3 million to 10 million, and the stipend amount will be increased to reflect current inflation.
