ISLAMABAD: Reacting to Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s recent controversial statement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has made it clear that no politics can be done on the issue of martyrs.

He said that martyrs are the pride of Pakistan and everyone must respect their sacrifices.

In a statement, Barrister Gohar said that PTI’s policy is very clear that the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism are the assets of the entire nation. Effective and complete implementation of the National Action Plan is indispensable to eradicate terrorism from the country.

The PTI Chairman further said that the law and order situation in the country should not be used for political point scoring, because all political parties should show responsibility on issues like national security and public safety.

Barrister Gohar also spoke about the Azad Kashmir elections and said that various proposals are under consideration to end the boycott decision.

According to him, the matter will be placed before the party’s parliamentary party and a final decision will be taken keeping in mind the ground realities.

He said that party decisions will be taken through a consultative process and all aspects will be reviewed at the parliamentary party forum.
