ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will hear the petitions filed on the issue of meetings with the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on July 20.

According to the details, the Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of the petitions regarding permission to meet with the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan. The case will be heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

The court will consider the petitions filed by Mashal Yousafzai and Uzma Khan, in which it has been taken a stand that they should be allowed to meet the founder of PTI. The petitioners say that the restrictions and administrative measures imposed on the meetings should be judicially reviewed.

During the previous hearing, the Supreme Court issued notices to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail and the Advocate General Islamabad and sought a detailed response.

The court had directed that the steps taken regarding the meetings, legal basis and official position be presented in writing so that all aspects can be reviewed.

According to sources, in the upcoming hearing, the court will examine the responses submitted by the concerned authorities in detail and after that further legal action and possible orders can be issued on the petitions.

The matter has been the focus of attention in legal and political circles for the past several weeks, with the July 20 hearing being seen as a major development in the case.
