ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s leading energy company Aramco has given a big relief to consumers by significantly reducing the price of high-octane petrol at its petrol pumps in Pakistan.

The company has reduced the price of high-octane from Rs 610 per liter to Rs 410 per liter, after which this decision is being positively responded to in public circles across the country.

This development has come at a time when the Pakistani government had not recently increased the prices of petroleum products in general, however, the levy on high-octane petrol was significantly increased from Rs 100 to Rs 300 per liter.

After this decision, the price of high-octane at various petrol pumps had reached Rs 600 to Rs 610 per liter, while at Pakistan State Oil’s pumps this price was recorded at around Rs 589 per liter.

High-octane petrol is especially indispensable for vehicles with modern turbo engines and high compression engines. There are many new vehicles imported or locally assembled in Pakistan that perform better only on high octane, due to which its demand was continuously increasing.

According to market sources, this move will not only provide financial relief to consumers but is also expected to increase the use of high octane.
