ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari has made an important decision regarding net metering applications submitted up to February 8.
As per the details, the Minister has ordered that all applications submitted until February 8 be processed under the old regulations. These applications will be handled by all electricity distribution companies, including K-Electric, and the electric net metering facility will be made available.
Orders have been issued to all distribution companies for immediate implementation. As of February 8, a total of 5,165 applications have been submitted across all distribution companies, including K-Electric. These applications will add a total capacity of 250.822 MW to the national grid.
This decision clears all ambiguities regarding current applications. The Federal Minister has also directed that full transparency be maintained in the application process. Electricity consumers have been requested to register any complaints by calling 188.
