ISLAMABAD: The price of broiler meat in the market continues to fluctuate, while according to the official price list, broiler chicken meat has been reduced by Rs 22 per kg.
The official price of broiler meat on holidays has been fixed at Rs 446 per kg. According to the market committee, the rate of live broiler chicken at the farm gate has been fixed at Rs 280 per kg.
The wholesale rate of live broiler chicken is fixed at Rs 294 per kg, while the retail rate is fixed at Rs 308 per kg. Despite this, overcharging continues in different areas of the city regarding the sale of broiler meat. Citizens say that some shopkeepers are selling meat contrary to the official price.
In some places, broiler meat is being sold for up to Rs 550 per kg in the name of “clean meat”. On the other hand, the price of farm eggs remains at Rs 236 per dozen. The wholesale rate of a carton of eggs has been fixed at Rs 6,960.
