Cement becomes cheaper in northern cities of the country

ISLAMABAD: A decrease in the average retail price of cement per bag has been recorded in the northern cities and areas of the country during the last week.

According to the weekly report issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price of cement per bag in the northern cities and areas of the country in the week ending May 14 was recorded at Rs 1526, which is 0.16 percent less than the previous week. In the previous week, the average retail price of cement per bag in the northern cities and areas of the country was recorded at Rs 1528.

Similarly, in the week ending May 14, the average retail price of cement per sack was recorded at Rs 1,540 in the southern cities and areas of the country, which is 0.03 percent higher than the previous week. In the previous week, the average retail price of cement per sack was recorded at Rs 1,539 in the southern cities and areas of the country.

According to the statistics, in the week ending May 14, the average retail price of cement per sack was recorded at Rs 1,541 in Islamabad, Rs 1,522 in Rawalpindi, Rs 1,550 in Gujranwala, Rs 1,540 in Sialkot, Rs 1,572 in Lahore, Rs 1,500 in Faisalabad, Rs 1,530 in Sargodha, Rs 1,540 in Multan, Rs 1,547 in Bahawalpur, Rs 1,509 in Peshawar and Rs 1,430 in Bannu.

Similarly, in the week ending May 14, the average retail price of cement per bag in Karachi was recorded at Rs 1,464, Hyderabad at Rs 1,520, Sukkur at Rs 1,600, Larkana at Rs 1,513, Quetta at Rs 1,490 and Khuzdar at Rs 1,650.
