ISLAMABAD: The retail price of cement registered an upward trend in the business week ended June 6, according to the weekly report released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The data shows that the price per bag of cement in the northern cities of the country was recorded at Rs 1,286, which is 2.11% higher than the previous rate of Rs 1,260.
Cement prices in southern cities were recorded at Rs 1,199 per sack, which is 0.08 percent higher than last week’s rate of Rs 1,198.
The retail price of cement in Islamabad was Rs 1,294 while in Rawalpindi it was Rs 1,281, Gujranwala Rs 1,300, Faisalabad Rs 1,280, Lahore, Peshawar, and Bahawalpur Rs 1,300, and Sialkot Rs 1,260.
The price of cement per sack was recorded at Rs 1165 in Karachi, while it was Rs 1180 in Hyderabad, Rs 1290 in Sukkur, and Rs 1173 in Larkana.
