Diesel price slashed by Rs134.81 in Pakistan amid Global drop

ISLAMABAD: The price of diesel in Pakistan has been reduced by Rs 134.81 per liter. The reason for the big relief was the reduction in the price of diesel in the global market.

According to the document, diesel became cheaper by $80 per barrel in the global market in 10 days. The global price of diesel fell from $270 to $190.70. On April 2, the price of diesel in the global market was up to $270 per barrel. At the beginning of the war, the global price of diesel was $88 per barrel on February 28. The lowest price was $190.73 per barrel between April 6 and 10.

According to the document, a premium of $5.10 per barrel is paid on the import of diesel in Pakistan, an accident cost of Rs1.54 per liter of diesel, and a customs duty of Rs15.68. Petrol is also $5 cheaper in the global market, with the price per barrel remaining at $140. The government had set the new price of diesel at Rs385.54 on Friday.
