EOBI pensioners to get increased pension from September 1

ISLAMABAD: In good news for EOBI pensioners, the increase in pension from January will be given to all pensioners along with the August pension on September 1st.

The basic pension that was increased by Rs 1,500 in the Old Age Benefit will be given to all pensioners in the September pension, along with all the dues.

In this regard, EOBI sources have confirmed that the pension received in September will be given along with all the arrears.

The EOBI pension was increased by Rs 1,500 per month, which will be given from January 1st, 2025.

It should be remembered that the federal government had increased the EOBI pension from Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,500 from January 2025, which was also approved by the federal cabinet.

EOBI Pension Increase

The federal cabinet has approved a 15 per cent hike in pensions for Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) pensioners, starting from January 1, 2025.

The government said that the increase is aimed at providing financial relief to retired senior citizens, relying on these pensions.

Addressing the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the performance of ministries will be evaluated every two months. He said key performance indicators will be determined for this purpose.

Furthermore, the premier announced that the ministries demonstrating strong performance will be commended. “Those ministries with shortcomings will be promptly addressed through corrective or disciplinary measures.”

The Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction over the Pakistan Stock Market, saying that the high performance of PSX reflects the positive business sentiment.
