ISLAMABAD: After Sindh and Punjab provinces, the Federal government has also decided to pay salaries and pensions to government employees in advance on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to fall on March 31 or April 1, therefore, the government decided to disburse in advance salaries and pensions.
The employees will get their salaries on March 27, and pensions for retirees would be disbursed on the same date.
On the other hand, there are likely to be six holidays on Eid-ul-Fitr across the country. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has predicted that this time the month of Ramadan will be 29 days long and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31.
In this case, Eid will be celebrated on three days of Eid-ul-Fitr (Monday to Wednesday), i.e. March 31, April 1 and 2.
However, if thirty days of fasting are completed, Eid will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 1 to Thursday.
Astronomers say that the Eid-ul-Fitr moon will be visible in most parts of Pakistan on the evening of March 30, because at that time it will be 26 hours old, which is exactly in line with the conditions for the moon to be visible.
Before that, Saturday and Sunday are holidays for government employees, so there will be at least six holidays for Eid.
