Flour prices reach record high across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Flour prices have once again recorded a significant increase across the country, with the maximum price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour reaching Rs 2,800.

According to documents obtained by Daily Ausaf and ABN News, this price is Rs 100 higher than the previous level, while earlier the maximum price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour was Rs 2,700.

According to the documents, Karachi has become the most expensive city in the country, where a 20-kilogram bag of flour is being sold for up to Rs 2,800.

In Peshawar, the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour is recorded at Rs 2,750, while in Islamabad it is Rs 2,733. In Rawalpindi, a 20 kg bag of flour has reached Rs 2707, while in Quetta and Bannu the same bag is being sold for Rs 2700.

According to the data, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour in Hyderabad has reached Rs 2600, while in Khuzdar and Larkana, this price was recorded at Rs 2400.

In Faisalabad, a 20 kg bag of flour is available for Rs 2350, in Gujranwala for Rs 2333, in Multan for Rs 2267, and in Bahawalpur for Rs 2260.

According to the documents, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour in Lahore is Rs 2250, while in Sargodha and Sialkot it is recorded at Rs 2200.

There is a significant difference in the prices of flour in different cities, but Karachi, Peshawar, and Islamabad are among the most expensive cities.

The continuous increase in flour prices has further increased the pressure on the household budget of ordinary citizens, while there are concerns about an increase in the overall inflation rate.

Public circles have demanded immediate and effective measures from the government to control the prices of basic food items, including flour.
