ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the legislation related to making public the assets of government employees has been completed, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also demanded the disclosure of assets of government employees, which is not an additional condition but a practical measure.

He said that next year’s budget will be prepared by the policy makers and not by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Every sector will be provided assistance to increase exports, and the formal sector has been directed to focus on non-compliant sectors.

The Finance Minister said that the private sector will have to take the lead in the development of the country, and creating employment is the job of the private sector, not the government. He added that out of the 8 groups of NFC, 2 are with the federation and 6 are with the provinces.

Muhammad Aurangzeb announced that like the Karachi Chamber, a research cell will also be set up in Lahore, while the auction of the national airline will be held on December 23.
