KARACHI: Gold prices recorded a sharp increase in both local and international markets, pushing the price of the precious metal higher across the board.

According to market data, the price of gold per tola in Pakistan increased by Rs4,463, reaching Rs442,636. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs4,179 to Rs378,345.

The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also witnessed an increase and was recorded at Rs347,083.

Meanwhile, in the international bullion market, gold prices surged by $189 per ounce, taking the global rate to $7,151 per ounce.

Market analysts attribute the increase to fluctuations in international markets and growing demand for gold as a safe-haven asset amid global economic uncertainty.

The rise in global gold prices has continued to influence local bullion rates, resulting in higher prices for investors and consumers in Pakistan.
