The levy on diesel has been increased from Rs 75.41 to Rs 76.21, while if the levy had been maintained, petrol could have been cheaper by Rs 4.50 per liter.
It should be noted that the federal government has decided to maintain the prices of petrol and diesel until January 31.
According to the notification, the price of petrol will remain at Rs 253.17 per liter, and the price of diesel will remain at Rs 257.8 per liter.
