Weather Alert: Rain, snow expected in several regions

ISLAMABAD: A new series of rain and snowfall is expected in different parts of the country during the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Islamabad is likely to be cold and partly cloudy.

In the upper areas, rain has been predicted in Chitral, Malam Jabba, Swat, Dir, Kalam, and Battagram, while thundershowers are expected in Abbottabad, Kohistan, Malakand, and Mansehra.

Thunderstorms and snowfall are likely in different parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Snowfall has been predicted in Skardu, Hunza, Nagar, Ghizer, Astore, Diamer, Shigar, and Ganche.

The Meteorological Department says that rain and snowfall will continue in Azad Kashmir from today till January 19, while rain and snowfall are also expected in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Rawalakot.

It has been further reported that the intensity of rain and snowfall may increase in most areas from January 20, while from January 21, most parts of the country may be engulfed by a powerful weather system.
