LAHORE: Despite the government fixing the price, LPG prices are continuing to increase across Punjab, including Lahore.
According to market sources, the government has fixed the official price of LPG at Rs 308 per kg, but various shopkeepers in Lahore are selling LPG for Rs 480 to Rs 500 per kg.
Market sources say that shopkeepers increase the price by Rs 10 to 20 per kg on their own accord, and domestic consumers are facing severe difficulties due to arbitrary prices.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik says that action will be taken against those responsible for the black price of LPG, notices are also being sent to marketing companies, the relevant institutions should ensure strict implementation of the official price list, and effective action will be taken against hoarding and illegal profiteering.
