Milk, Yogurt prices continue to increase across provincial capital

LAHORE: The Lahore district administration has not been able to enforce official rates on milk and yogurt. Consumers are facing higher prices of milk and yogurt in the open market.

In Lahore, milk is available at the official rate of Rs 170 per litre, but in different areas of the district, milk is being sold at a rate higher than the official price, up to Rs 240 per litre.

Consumers are paying an additional amount of Rs 70 per litre on top of the official rate. Similarly, yogurt is being sold at up to Rs 250 per kg in the Lahore market.

The citizens have shown anger and have demanded that the district administration implement the market price on sellers charging above the notified rate for the above items.

They demanded that it should conduct the checking of markets and enforce the market rate.
