Lahore Traffic Police to change uniform again

LAHORE: The City Traffic Police Lahore has decided to change its uniform once again, with traffic wardens set to return to the previous uniform pattern less than a year after the current dress code was introduced.

According to police sources, traffic wardens will replace the existing white shirt and blue trousers with the earlier blush grey uniform. The decision has been taken at the administrative level to restore a more uniform and practical dress code for traffic police personnel.

Sources said the current uniform was introduced during the tenure of former Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed, when each traffic warden was also provided Rs5,000 to purchase the new uniform.

A meeting chaired by the DIG Logistics and Procurement was held to discuss the proposed change. The meeting was attended by the AIG Logistics, representatives of SPRMP, SPPHP, and other senior officers, who reviewed key matters related to the new uniform.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has decided to retain its existing uniform. Officials said all officers and personnel of the force will continue wearing the current uniform pattern to maintain consistency and uniformity within the department.

The revised uniform for Lahore’s traffic wardens is expected to be implemented after the necessary administrative formalities are completed.
