Petrol sales drop across Pakistan amid rising prices

LAHORE: Pakistan fuel sales reached 1.36 million tons in April 2026, showing a 7 percent year-on-year decline and a 6 percent monthly decline.

According to Topline Securities, this is mainly due to a surge in petrol and diesel prices seen in the month. The sales for 10MFY26 reached 13.8 million tons, which showed a 4 percent increase compared to the previous year.

April 2026 ex-furnace oil sales reached 1.22 million tons, which represented an 11 percent year-on-year decline and a 10 percent monthly decline.

The 10MFY26 Ex-FO sales reached 13.2 million tons, which showed a 5 percent increase compared to the previous year.

PSO Pakistan State Oil (PSO) saw fuel sales drop 5 percent YoY in April 2026 to 591000 tons from 624000 tons last year. Fuel sales experienced a 6 percent monthly decline when compared to March 2026.

The 10-month period showed a 1 percent decrease in PSO sales, which reached 5828000 tons compared to 5885000 tons during 10MFY25.

Hascol Petroleum Limited (HASCOL) recorded a decline of 26 percent YoY in sales volumes to stand at 35,000 tons in April 2026 compared to 48,000 tons last year.

The 10-month period exhibited a 2 percent decrease in year-on-year comparison, which resulted in a total of 426000 tons for the current period compared to 436000 tons from 10MFY25.

Attock Petroleum Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) and Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (formerly Shell) exhibited smaller volume decreases.

APL delivered 119000 tons, which represented a 6 percent decline from the previous year since APL delivered 126000 tons during April 2025. After 10 months, APL business volume dropped 2 percent to reach 1131000 tons, which compares to 1160000 tons from 10MFY25.
