Govt announces 10,000 laptops for THESE students

LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat declared 2025 a year of initiatives for improving education and said that thousands of laptops will also be provided to students of private educational institutions.

For the performance of the Education Department during 2025, the Punjab Education Minister stated that, like the last year, 2025 also remained the year of steps for the betterment of education.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said that 2 million ghost enrollments in educational institutions were removed, teacher deficiencies were rectified through the rationalization of 26,000 teachers, historic work was done on syllabus reforms, examination reforms were introduced, and boards were empowered.

A proposal was brought forth in Punjab that employees in educational institutions should have their criminal records examined before recruitment regarding sexual offenses.

He also said the focus of the Punjab government was on ECE, established ECE rooms in 10,000 schools, and is also providing nutrition programs to 1.1 million students daily.

The Education Minister said that 268 schools were upgraded, decisions were made in 37 cases of teacher harassment, and a decision was taken to provide 10,000 laptops to students of private educational institutions.
