SBP announces holiday on January 01

ISLAMABAD: The banks will also remain closed for public dealings on 01 January 2026, as announced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday through an official notification.

In addition, it was announced through a notification that banks, Development Financial Institutions, and microfinance banks would be closed to the public on January 1 due to a bank holiday.

Therefore, all banks, microfinance banks, and development financial institutions will, therefore, be closed for the aforementioned date. Yet, all bank employees, as well as development financial institution employees/MFB employees, will go to the office as usual,” the statement added.
