LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has taken extensive measures to ensure the secure and smooth conduct of the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) on Sunday.

Examination papers and materials were dispatched to 11 Punjab cities under tight security on Friday, escorted by district police and senior UHS faculty members.

Moreover, the papers will be stored in district treasury offices’ safe rooms.

To maintain order, a Command and Control Center has been set up at UHS, with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore overseeing operations.

In addition, a help desk will facilitate communication with exam centers. Mobile phones are prohibited, and mobile/internet services will be suspended within 500 meters of each center.

Training sessions for invigilation staff will occur on Saturday. Senior officials will oversee arrangements, with Section 144 enforced to prevent unauthorized access.

Parents can wait in designated areas, and candidates will undergo body searches before entering exam halls.

Emergency services, including ambulances and medical staff, will be on standby from 7 AM. Teaching hospitals are on high alert, and personnel from Special Branch, Civil Defense, and Fire Brigade will be deployed.

NADRA’s e-Sahulat counters will verify suspicious candidates’ identities. These stringent measures aim to guarantee a secure and successful MDCAT.
