ISLAMABAD: According to a recent tally, up to 12,500 students have signed up for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) retake in Islamabad.
The retake is scheduled to take place on December 30, 2024 under the supervision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU).
Previously, the SZAMBU was ordered to retake the exam by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in which 22,500 applicants had signed up for the September 22 retake exam. However, the exam was re-scheduled due to security reasons.
The entrance exam for medical colleges was administered by SZABMU in Islamabad, AJK, as well as at two locations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. However, the IHC ordered the university to retake the test due to several concerns.
Although the institution has said that the results of the test administered on September 22 will not be altered, anyone who wished to retake the MDCAT might submit
Following the submission of applications by almost 17,000 students, the institution first announced that the test would take place on November 24. However, it then cancelled the test and instead to hold it on December 14.
However, SZABMU cancelled the test and said it will take place on December 22 instead.
