Punjab govt approves recruitment for College Teaching Interns (CTIs)

LAHORE: Punjab government has approved the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across the most populated region in the country. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has approved several key initiatives.

In addition, To ensure transparency, she directed the recruitment of College Teaching Interns (CTIs) in government colleges.

The cabinet also approved amendments to the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess Act 2015 and delegated leave and pension authority to district health and education CEOs.

New appointments include a government analyst, provincial drug inspector, and Punjab caretaker ombudsman. Emphasizing the need to combat artificial inflation and hoarding, CM Nawaz pushed for establishing the Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA). Structural reforms are being introduced across all sectors.

Other initiatives include a special allowance for police in the Katcha area, a Rs500 million Endowment Fund for Writers’ Welfare, and a special court for persons with disabilities. Sub-registrar powers will be conditionally delegated to the soldiers and not the soldiers.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the Board of Revenue to create a five-year housing policy and approved Lahore Knowledge Park’s inclusion under the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority.

New members were appointed to the Gujranwala Development Authority and a vice chairman for WASA, Gujranwala. Changes to the government land exchange policy and reallocation of funds for upgrading tertiary care hospitals were also approved.
