Punjab govt bans summer camps in school during vacations

LAHORE: Punjab government has announced that there will no summer camp in all government and private schools during vacations this year due to scorching heat in the province.

In a notification, Punjab School Education Department imposed complete ban on holding summer camps across the province until further notice.

Mentioning that some private schools claimed receiving permission to hold summer camps during summer vacation, the Punjab School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that no permission was granted.

No private school is permitted to conduct a summer camp without official approval and a formal departmental notification, SED officials said.

Punjab Summer Vacations 2024

Due to the severe heatwaves across the province, the Punjab government has announced an early start to summer vacations for schools, which have begun on May 25.

A notification stated, “Given the surge in temperature and heatwave in the province, all public and private schools shall remain closed for seven days with effect from 25th May 2024 to 31st May 2024.
