LAHORE: In a long-awaited relief for over 300,000 teachers and employees, the Punjab government has issued directives to complete pending promotions across the province.
According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Public Instruction (Elementary), Punjab, all eligible employees in Grades 1 to 16 will be promoted within one month. The promotion orders have been dispatched to the CEOs of all districts with directions for timely implementation.
The DPI Elementary Punjab has also directed all relevant authorities to clear long-pending promotion files on a priority basis.
Officials have been warned that action will be taken in cases of unnecessary delays, negligence, or failure to process cases within the given timeframe.
Government staffers and teachers welcomed the decision, terming it a major relief to the thousands of employees whose promotions had stalled for years.
They see this step as one that will iron out long-standing disgruntlements and restore confidence to the workforce.
