KARACHI: The Sindh Textbook Board has commenced the distribution of textbooks for the 2025-26 school year to provide school materials to students at the beginning of the year.

Following instructions from Sindh’s Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the board has decided to distribute the textbooks semphhorally, beginning with primary public schools in the Jamshoro District.

The books have been distributed to three talukas, Manjhand, Thano Bula Khan, and Sehwan District; however, secondary school books will be delivered next week.

To make the delivery process as efficient as possible, the book distribution process will have a monitoring committee in each school to monitor whether books have been delivered to students.

This is in line with the government of Sindh‘s plans to improve education quality and improve operational efficiency as it relates to resource allocation. Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah emphasized the need to improve how textbooks are distributed and that there issignificant positive impact from recruiting teachers on merit to improve public schools in the province.

A significant addition to the initiative announced is the creation of book banks in public schools, which will improve sustainability and reduce inefficiency when it relates to resources.

The book banks are designed to allow the precise distribution of materials according to enrollment & books on hand, and the government hopes to see a 50% return rate of books on an annual basis, which would lessen the reliance on book printing and lessen the effects of inflation.

By implementing this the province is demonstrating a commitment to give additional protection to the public education system.
