Winter vacations 2024: Punjab annoucnes guidelines for schools

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Thursday announced the winter vacation schedule for schools across the province, starting from December 20, 2024.

According to the School Education Department, the winter vacations will begin on December 20, 2024, and will continue until January 10, 2025. The vacation provides students and staff with a well-deserved 20 days of vacation.

According to the details, educational institutions will reopen on January 11, 2025, to resume regular activities. Teachers will likely focus on reviewing the curriculum and preparing students for upcoming exams and assignments, the education department said.

Guidelines for winter vacations

Secretary School Education Department Khalid Nazir Wattoo emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced academic routine, with the uniform dates applicable to both public and private schools across Punjab.

Parents are encouraged to balance leisure with study time during the break, he said, suggesting they spend quality time with their children and ensure their health is maintained during the winter.

In a message to parents, Watto further told them to avoid students’ excessive screen time and encourage them for constructive activities, like reading and skill-building.
