RAWALPINDI: Director General  Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s security is guaranteed by the armed forces, and this guarantee should not be given to Kabul.

The Taliban play with the heads of our security personnel as footballs; how can there be talks with them?

Briefing senior journalists, he said that Pakistan has never celebrated the arrival of the Taliban.

We are fighting with Taliban groups, and operations are ongoing against TTP, BLA, and other organizations.

On the question regarding drones, he said that we have no agreement with the US, and no formal complaint has been received from the Taliban regime regarding drones.

The Ministry of Information has clarified this many times, and we have no agreement of any kind that drones will go from Pakistan to Afghanistan.

He said that the Taliban regime facilitates terrorists. In Istanbul, the Taliban have been clearly told that you have to control terrorism, and how to do it is your job.

These were our people. When the operation against terrorism was carried out here, they fled to Afghanistan.

Hand them over to us, and we will deal with them according to the constitution and law.

Real Problem is the Nexus of Terrorism

He said that the real problem is the nexus of terrorism, criminals, and TTP. These people cultivate opium and earn 18 to 25 lakh rupees per acre.

The entire population, Warlords, join these people, and this share goes to the Afghan Taliban, TTP, and warlords.

Terrorism, hashish, and smuggling are all done by these people together, and they make money.

To a question, he said that if any post is to be created in the army, it is the government’s prerogative, not ours.

DG ISPR said that we have never said that the army carried out any operation in the Tirah Valley. If we carry out an operation, we will tell you, we have carried out intelligence-based operations in which about 200 of our soldiers and officers were martyred, and convoys carrying supplies are attacked at our posts.

On the question of Governor Raj, DG ISPR said that this is not our responsibility but the federal government’s, and we take action against those who attack mosques and madrasas.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that our position on the conference to be held in Istanbul is absolutely clear, there should be no terrorism, there should be no interference.

Afghan territory should not be used; the ceasefire agreement was reached with our strength, and the Afghan Taliban had gone to our friendly countries.

He said that we should not be taught any morality, and we are not begging anyone by putting our hands under their chin; we know how to protect our armed forces and people.

On the question of sending troops to Gaza, DG ISPR said that this is not our matter but the government’s.

DG ISPR said that the border of Afghanistan is 2600 kilometers long, which includes mountains and rivers. A post is built every 25 to 40 kilometers; it cannot be built everywhere.

There are border guards on both sides of the world; here, we have to do it alone. Their guards fire on our army to let terrorists cross the border, and we respond to them.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said that the government of Pakistan, the cabinet, the army, and the political parties made decisions together in the fight against terrorism.

If the KP government asks for talks with the terrorists, then this cannot happen. This spreads confusion. The Taliban play with the heads of our security personnel as footballs. How can negotiations be held with them?
