PESHAWAR: Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has established a 3-member committee in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister to oversee ministerial performance.
The committee includes Shah Farman, senior legal expert Qazi Anwar, and Musaddiq, advisor to the CM on anti-corruption. Its mandate is to address corruption complaints, propose governance improvements, and evaluate the performance of the Chief Minister and other ministers.
Moreover, Qazi Anwar noted that the committee will enhance the Anti-Corruption Department’s scope and investigate corruption cases involving grade 21 officers and ministers. Following its review, the committee will refer cases to the courts for further action. This decision came after a meeting between Imran Khan and the Chief Minister, during which concerns about ministerial performance were discussed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticized the KP government for not establishing the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) despite receiving Rs590 billion over the past 14 years. He pointed out that under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, KP was allocated an additional one percent share to strengthen its counter-terrorism efforts. Sharif emphasized that KP has been on the front lines against terrorism, and the sacrifices of its people will always be recognized.
