KARACHI: At least six people died of rabies due to dog bites in Karachi between May and August, according to a health department official.
According to hospital officials, three of the deceased were undergoing treatment at Jinnah Hospital, while three were undergoing treatment at Korangi Trust Hospital.
Officials say that the number of deaths due to rabies in Sindh so far this year has reached 14.
Hospital officials say that eight people who were affected by rabies died at Jinnah Hospital, while six died at Korangi Trust Hospital.
According to hospital officials, more than 22,000 cases of dog bites have been reported across Sindh so far this year.
