ISLAMABAD: The federal government will resume its Health Facility Program, offering free treatment to deserving people of the federal capital and twin cities.
Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal said this at a teaching hospital he was visiting. The federal minister told reporters that the health facility program, which had long been inactive, had been revitalized to benefit thousands of deserving families facing the burden of medical expenses.
According to him, forty-two hospitals of the twin cities had been integrated into the project. People already registered in the health facility program would be provided free medical checkups, all diseases and surgeries, and pathological and clinical services.
He further told the press corps that a robust monitoring system has been developed to curb corruption, and hospitals indulging in any malpractice or fraud shall be prosecuted accordingly and dropped from the list.
He declared that no misuse of money spent on people will be permitted. Mr. Mustafa Kamal said the ministry would examine the proposal of extending the project to other parts of the country.
