New polio case in Balochistan raises Pakistan’s 2023 total to 43

QUETTA: Another case of polio has been reported from Chagai area of ​​Balochistan, after which the total number of cases reported across the country this year has reached 43.

According to the National Institute of Health, a child from Chagai area of ​​Balochistan has been diagnosed with type 1 wild polio virus, which resulted in paralysis.

With this recent case, the total number of polio cases in the country this year has increased to 43, while the total number has increased to 22 in Balochistan alone.

According to the report of the National Polio Emergency Operation Center, 12 children in Sindh, 7 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one each in Punjab and Islamabad have been paralyzed due to polio this year.
