Films set to release in Pakistani cinemas on Eid ul Fitr 2024

KARACHI: Watching movies in the cinema is one of the main activities Pakistanis do on Eid days along with eating delicious food at family gatherings. Just like every other year, new movies including domestic and international are coming to cinemas all over Pakistan.

Unlike other previous Eid festivals, this year only two Pakistani movies will welcome Eid-ul-Fitr 2024. Junaid Khan’s starrer comedy number, “Hum Tum Aur Wo” and Wajahat Rauf directed “Daghabaaz Dil” will be released in the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.

The film business in Pakistan is currently expanding annually. Pakistani films have been doing well at the box office since Waar’s enormous success.  Released in 2022, the action/thriller The Legend of Maula Jatt made its spectacular debut and crossed the Rs. 250 crore mark at the box office. Other recent high-grossing films include Quaid e Azam Zindabad with Rs. 150 crore business, London Nahi Jaunga, and multi-star picture Money Back Guarantee, etc.

Let’s take a look at the films that will be premiered on Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.

Daghabaaz Dil

With laughter, tears, and a whole lot of heart, Wajahat Rauf’s “Daghaabaz Dil” is a tale of love conquering all, proving that sometimes, even the most unexpected unions can lead to happily ever after. Wajahat Rauf cast three stars Mehwish Hayat, Ali Rehman Khan, and Momin Saqib in his yet another romantic comedy number. Daghabaaz Dil hints at a romance alongside a candid exploration of human relationships.

Hum Tum Aur Woh

Hum Tum Aur Woo”, a romantic comedy film, will open with a detailed introduction of three of its main characters i.e. Fawad Khan from Islamabad, Zafar Khitchi from Sargodha, and Raja Yasir from Pindi. All three have no BIG DREAMS.

The First Omen

In the film The First Omen, a young American lady is sent to Rome to start a life of ministry to the church. There, she discovers a darkness that makes her doubt her faith and unearths a horrifying plot intended to bring forth the appearance of evil in human form.

Directed by rookie Arkasha Stevenson, The First Omen stars Ralph Ineson, Charles Dance, and Bill Nighy.

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire

Two ancient titans, Godzilla and Kong, clash in an epic battle as humans unravel their intertwined origins and connection to Skull Island’s mysteries. It stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
