No need for Foreign Advice on Elections, Pakistan tells foreign Nations

Islamabad: Pakistan reiterated its stance on electoral affairs, asserting sovereignty and dismissing foreign advice during a recent briefing in Islamabad.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office Spokesperson, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to fulfilling constitutional obligations, addressing concerns raised by the United States and other nations regarding election procedures.

The spokesperson stated, “We are fulfilling our constitutional responsibilities,” rebuffing external calls for intervention.

Earlier, there was a report from EU Pakistan about irregularities in elections, as well as UK US pointed out some irregularities in the elections. US Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller voiced concerns about alleged irregularities and fraud in the most recent Pakistani elections.

The European Union has taken note of this development. Notwithstanding the structural obstacles that women and members of minority groups still confront, Pakistanis’ utilization of their right to vote shows their dedication to democracy and the rule of law.
