LAHORE: The Chief Minister IT Internship Program, an initiative of the Government of Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), launched on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is strengthening Punjab’s digital workforce by equipping young graduates with industry-relevant skills and on-site experience.

Under this program, more than 225 leading IT companies across Punjab have partnered to offer over 2,400 internship opportunities, providing fresh graduates with on-site industry exposure and practical skills required to thrive in today’s competitive digital economy. The initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s vision of equipping youth with in-demand technological expertise while simultaneously supporting the growth of the IT sector.

By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the program ensures that graduates are not only qualified but also market-ready. Interns selected under the program will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000, enabling them to gain valuable experience without financial constraints.

Additionally, participating companies will be supported with PKR 12,500 per intern per month, encouraging wider industry participation and strengthening the ecosystem for talent development. The internship duration is set for a maximum of five months, during which candidates will work closely with industry professionals, gaining real-world insights and exposure to modern tools, technologies, and workplace dynamics.

To ensure transparency and merit-based selection, applicants must meet clearly defined eligibility criteria, including holding a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, having completed their education within the last four years, possessing a valid CNIC, and holding a domicile of Punjab. Speaking about the initiative, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf highlighted that the program is designed not only to enhance employability but also to drive innovation and economic growth by nurturing a skilled and future-ready workforce.

Graduates are encouraged to apply through the official portal and take advantage of this opportunity to kickstart their professional journey in Pakistan’s rapidly growing IT industry.
