LAHORE: Rumors of the death of senior leader Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former provincial minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid have been declared baseless.
Kot Lakhpat Jail authorities have informed that PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid is completely fine and is currently in jail.
Authorities say that the rumors spread on social media regarding Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s health are fabricated and baseless, there is no truth in such news.
Jail administration says that Dr. Yasmin Rashid is taken to Pakistan Institute of Cardiology (PIC), Hameed Latif Hospital and Shaukat Khanum Hospital from time to time for routine medical check-ups, where she undergoes medical examination.
Jail authorities have appealed to the public not to listen to unconfirmed news and only trust information released from authentic sources.
It should be noted that after the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan in May 2023, the PTI staged nationwide protests, during which civil and government buildings were damaged in violent protests.
Cases were registered for damaging public and private property in the violent protests and for inciting workers by party leaders. Yasmin Rashid and other leaders have been convicted in several cases and are serving sentences in various jails, including Kot Lakhpat.
