Asian Games 2026: Sahibzada Farhan to be Pakistan T20 team captain, 15-member squad announced

Sahibzada Farhan nears top spot in T20I Rankings

LAHORE: The leadership of the Pakistan T20 team for the Asian Games 2026 has been handed over to Sahibzada Farhan.

In this regard, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) says that a 15-member squad has been announced for the Asian Games, Sahibzada Farhan will lead the team.

The men’s T20 International competitions in the Asian Games 2026 will begin in Aichi, Japan from September 24, and the cricket medal competitions in the Asian Games will be held on October 3.

The PCB says that Abdul Samad will serve as vice-captain along with the 30-year-old Sahibzada Farhan.

Sahibzada Farhan has scored 1305 runs in 46 T20 International matches for Pakistan, including 2 centuries and 10 half-centuries.

Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Moaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood are looking forward to playing T20 International for Pakistan for the first time.

14 out of the 15 players of the Asian Games squad will also be part of the white ball camp starting in Lahore from June 15.

National team squad

Pakistan’s squad includes captain Sahibzada Farhan, vice-captain Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali and Hassan Nawaz.

Apart from this, Moaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Saim Ayub, Sufyan Muqeem and Usman Khan are also part of the squad.
