LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the establishment of a 50-acre Punjab Film City, which is being established in Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the Film City project is the country’s first complete “end-to-end” media production hub.
The revival of Pakistan’s film industry will be ensured through modern technology, facilities, and resources. Modern facilities for film, TV, animation, and digital media will be provided under one roof.
Dependence on foreign countries for VFX and post-production will be reduced.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that modern studios, sound stages, and post-production labs are also included in the Film City project.
All the various facilities, sets, and a central lake will also be built for shooting. Convention halls will be established for international events and award shows.
Media Trade Hub and Film and Music School will also be part of the project.
According to Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Film City project will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. The modern Film City will promote the animation, gaming, and digital media sectors.
The Film City project is an important step towards the promotion of the creative economy. The Film City will provide a platform for talent, technology, and business.
The project will be completed in phases, and more details are expected to be released soon.
