KARACHI: Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar’s brother and brother-in-law came to the city to take her body on Thursday. Her decomposed body was found in her Karachi DHA flat on July 8. The 32-year-old, who was most famous for her appearances in reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’ and film ‘Jalaibee,’ was believed to have been killed six months ago by initial police investigations.
While Humaira Asghar’s father had refused to take her mortal remains and perform her last rites, her brother and brother-in-law have also come back to Karachi to take her body back, a police official disclosed.
The two have come to the city and will take her body to Lahore for the final rites, the SSP Karachi South said. The official disclosed that the family had no contact with Humaira Asghar after October 2024.
According to SSP Karachi South, the family of the Pakistani actress suspected no one regarding involvement in her death.
DIG South Asad Raza had previously stated that the apartment was bolted from inside with no indications of forced entry, meaning no immediate sign of foul play.
At the same time, the Karachi police spokesperson disclosed that the two flatmates who stay next door had been out of the country and came back to Karachi this year.
It must be mentioned here that Humaira Asghar had stayed alone in the flat for many years and failed to pay rent in the initial months of 2024.
Her last social media activity was in September 2024, and her mobile records indicate no interaction since October 4.
