A tragic Abbottabad hospital negligence case has emerged after a 13-year-old boy died following surgery at a government hospital, triggering strong public reaction and police involvement. The incident occurred at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Abbottabad, where the child was admitted for an appendix-related condition and later underwent an operation.

Child Dies After Surgery at DHQ Hospital Abbottabad

According to local sources, the boy, identified as Hasnain Ali, was brought to DHQ Hospital after complaining of severe abdominal pain. Doctors reportedly diagnosed him with appendicitis and performed surgery soon after admission. However, the child failed to regain consciousness after the operation and remained unresponsive for four days.

Hospital staff later confirmed that Hasnain Ali passed away during treatment. The news of his death deeply shocked the family, as he was the only brother of three sisters. Relatives allege that medical negligence during or after the procedure led to his death, raising serious questions about patient care and post-operative monitoring at the facility.

Family Protest and Police Action

Following the child’s death, grieving family members and local residents staged a protest inside the hospital premises, placing the body in the ward area and demanding immediate action against the doctor involved. Witnesses said emotions ran high, and the protest disrupted hospital operations for several hours.

During the unrest, the accused doctor reportedly left the hospital. Police were called to the scene to control the situation and record statements from the family. Authorities later confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the doctor on allegations of negligence.

Police officials stated that an investigation is underway and assured the family that the case will be examined on medical and legal grounds. Health department sources said an internal inquiry may also be initiated to determine whether standard medical procedures were followed.
